A friend of mine at work suggested that I start watching Cities of the Underworld - it's a History Channel show where this guy basically researches and explores underground "cities." Keely and I watched the one about Edinburgh, Scotland yesterday, and it showed an entire underground world that had been built for the poor of Edinburgh to live in because four hundred years ago (or whenever Edinburgh was founded) no one wanted to build outside the city walls for fear that the dreaded English would come and attack them.
It was a really interesting episode, and I would recommend anyone interested in history or travel to check out the show.
